GROH has been providing housing to Government employees since 1964. Over the years, GROH have had a number of heritage properties within its portfolio.
Maintaining, and in some cases disposing of, heritage properties requires special attention, knowledge and care. GROH works closely with the Heritage Council of Western Australia to ensure that all aspects of our property management are appropriate and within heritage policies and guidelines.
The Residency, Northam Originally built to house the local magistrate, the Residency is a Queen Anne style single-story brick and iron home. Designed by then Government architect Hillson Beasley the Residency was constructed around 1908. This classic federation property still provides residential housing to Government employees in Northam. The Residency is thought to be one of the longest continuously lived in residences in Western Australia.
