Kinlock Infill Development

The vision for the Kinlock Infill Development (Kinlock Project) is for a high quality and inviting urban community with established trees and public open spaces that positively contribute to the character and future of Ferndale

The opportunity

The Department of Communities (Communities) has commenced a procurement process to engage a development manager to deliver the Kinlock Project at the former Kinlock Primary School site located on the corner of Latham Rd and Kinlock Ave, Ferndale.

The 4.1-hectare vacant site is situated only 12 kilometers from the Perth CBD and is close to public transport, recreational and educational facilities, Westfield Carousel shopping centre and the Canning River Regional Park.

The proposed medium-density residential development will benefit from existing local amenity and connections while providing well-designed, affordable and diverse housing opportunities for people of varying ages and needs.

Procurement update

A Request for Proposals opportunity was released in June and closed 30 August 2018. Communities will review the proposals and select a preferred respondent to undergo Stage 2 of the procurement process (commercial negotiations). The appointment of a successful proponent is expected to occur in mid-2019.
