The Precincts

The Precincts banner

The Department of Communities, incorporating the Housing Authority, is bringing to market some of the largest urban infill opportunities the State has ever seen. We’re opening up a new world of development opportunity and are seeking to partner with experienced developers to deliver the next tranche of market-leading urban infill built-form projects.

Welcome to ‘The Precincts’

Under this collective program of activity, we’re going beyond just building new dwellings to consider what makes a community a genuinely good place to live.

We’re strengthening our focus on providing homes for all Western Australians in safe, inclusive neighbourhoods with strong community connections. We’re creating neighbourhoods with heart and soul.

After all, it’s the people who make a place, and we’re proud to continuously set new benchmarks and be the State’s leader in the development of masterplanned communities with people at the heart.

The procurement process to identify developers/consortia to deliver the first sites in The Precincts’ pipeline of significant urban infill projects is underway.

The Precincts will be delivered in multiple phases across the Perth metropolitan area, with landholdings in Bentley (Bentley 360) and Joondalup (Connect Joondalup) launching Phase 1. Phase 2 will see the release of sites in Beaconsfield and Cannington.

Collectively, the four projects are expected to inject more than 5000 new dwellings into the Perth market over the next 15 years. They are strategically located within, or in proximity to, activity centres, key transport infrastructure and established amenity. All will play an integral role in the future planning, development and growth of Perth.
