The Ryans Court project represents an exciting new chapter for the local community of Redcliffe. The Department of Communities (Communities) is creating more affordable housing opportunities for the people of Perth through sustainable, quality design that elevates community connection.
Located 10km east of the Perth CBD in the established suburb of Redcliffe, the Ryans Court project presents the opportunity to create a strong, diverse and integrated community within an area that will have a new train station, great transport links, a variety of employment opportunities as well as being close to community services and activities.
The Ryans Court project is not included within the City of Belmont’s Development Area 6 (DA6) redevelopment area. Any queries or concerns with DA6 should be directed to the City of Belmont by calling 9477 7222.
Communities has established four project objectives, or focus areas, that will help guide development outcomes for the site:
- Environment: The large mature trees and existing canopy will be celebrated and enhanced to support a sustainable and liveable neighbourhood that is valued by residents and contributes to the overall character and amenity of the area.
- Connectivity: The project will support an inclusive and connected community that facilitates relationships between future residents and the existing community and encourages active transport to capitalise on nearby infrastructure and amenity
- Thoughtful density: The increased density will complement the existing neighbourhood context by taking a considered approach to building height transitions, the impact of overshadowing and privacy with adjacent properties.
- Diversity: The project will bring a new mix of housing typologies and tenures to the area that will contribute to an even more vibrant and dynamic community that people of all ages, needs, budgets and lifestyles will be drawn to.
The type of affordable housing that will be built at Ryans Court will reflect the goals of the State Government in providing well-designed, sustainable and low to medium-density homes that meet the needs of a growing and changing population.
