Housing Allocations

Through the process of community meetings laid out in the Department of Communities' protocol on Ascertaining the Wishes of Aboriginal Inhabitants, the community and the Department identified how the housing waiting list will be managed, and is identified in Annexure A of the Housing Management Agreement (HMA).

The Allocations Policy, as agreed by the Organisation and the Department, details what factors are used to identify and allocate to the most appropriate applicant on the wait list for an available residence (whether it be a house, duplex or unit etc.).

An example can be because of health reasons, existing length of time on the wait list or family size.

Ask your Housing Officer what the Allocations Policy is for your community, as detailed in your HMA.
