Sales have officially commenced at Greenwood’s newest residential community, East Green.
Sixteen houses priced from $350,000 were released for off-the-plan purchase on Saturday 2 September.
At the Ministerial launch event last week, Housing Minister Peter Tinley said the estate would deliver diverse and affordable housing options, with a number of homes to be made available through the State Government’s shared equity initiative.
“Many low-to-moderate income earners in Western Australia are struggling to access affordable housing in established suburbs,” Mr Tinley said. “The McGowan Government is seeking to address this challenge in its residential developments, including East Green.
“The mix of housing will provide new opportunities for downsizers wanting to stay in their local community, first homebuyers seeking to purchase in a well-connected location near their networks, and families who have previously been priced out of the local market.”
The Department of Communities (Housing) and Frasers Property Australia are partnering to deliver the new residential community, which will comprise up to 138 contemporary houses and apartments upon completion in 2020.
East Green is situated within the Greenwood activity centre, meaning future residents will be within 2km of schools, shops and a medical centre. East Green is also well connected to Perth CBD, Joondalup and the wider Greenwood community, with three bus routes in walking distance and both the Greenwood and Warwick train stations a five-minute drive away.
Twenty-five per cent of the estate will be dedicated landscaped parkland, with many of the existing mature trees to be retained, creating a green, family friendly space to be enjoyed by the whole community.
The high standard of planning, design and construction at East Green has been recognised by the Green Building Council of Australia, which awarded the project a 5 Star Green Star Community rating in July.
